CigarBid Price Tracker (cigarpricetracker.com) is a free tool that records closing prices from CigarBid.com auctions and lets you look them up. The CigarBid Tracker browser extension overlays that same price data on CigarBid listing pages.
This page describes what data we collect, what we don't, and why.
Nothing personal. The extension runs only on cigarbid.com pages. When a listing page loads, the extension reads the product data that CigarBid already embeds in the page source (SKU IDs and lot IDs) and sends those SKUs to our API to fetch historical price data. It does not read any login state, session cookies, payment information, bidding activity, or anything else from your CigarBid account.
When the extension (or your browser) calls our API at cigarpricetracker.com, our server logs the request like any website: the requesting IP address, the timestamp, the path, and the response status. These logs are used only to operate the service (rate limiting, debugging, capacity planning) and are not linked to any identity. We do not set cookies and we do not use third-party analytics on the API.
The main website also records basic first-party analytics events (pageviews, searches, and clicks) to measure site traffic and understand which cigars visitors are interested in. These events include the request IP, a two-letter country code derived from Cloudflare's CF-IPCountry header, the page path, and a random session identifier stored in browser sessionStorage that resets when the tab closes. Raw IP addresses are retained for 90 days for abuse review, after which the IP column is cleared while the aggregate counts remain. No third-party analytics provider (Google Analytics, Plausible, Umami, etc.) receives any of this data — the events are stored in our own first-party database and never shared.
Standard Cloudflare protections apply to all traffic reaching the site. Cloudflare's own privacy policy governs any data they process on our behalf as a CDN/WAF.
The main website (cigarpricetracker.com) does not use cookies for user tracking, does not require an account, and does not run advertising or third-party analytics scripts. Some outbound links to retailers are affiliate links — clicking them may set a tracking cookie controlled by the retailer, governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
We store publicly-available auction data — cigar names, SKU IDs, lot IDs, closing prices, and close timestamps — as scraped from CigarBid.com. None of this is personal to you.
The extension itself does not load any third-party resources while running on cigarbid.com. It only talks to cigarpricetracker.com.
CigarBid Tracker is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to CigarBid.com, Cigars International, BPA Sales, LP, or Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
Uninstalling the extension in your browser removes it completely. It has no server-side component tied to your browser and nothing to “delete” on our side.
