When do cigars on CigarBid actually close cheap? This heatmap bins every auction close by
day of week and hour (Eastern Time), then compares each close to that same cigar's own
typical price over the last 180 days. Greener means bigger discounts
vs. the cigar's own average — not just "when cheap cigars happen to close."
Based on 392,078 closed auctions in the 180-day window. Cells with fewer than 5 closes are hidden.
Best time to bid: Saturday 10pm ET
Closes in this hour went 4.8% below their cigar's own typical English price on average, across 13268 sales.

How to read this
- Each cell is one (weekday, hour) bucket in Eastern Time. Hover to see the exact numbers.
- "% vs. typical" means how far below the cigar's own 180-day average that hour's closes ran. Positive = below typical (good). Negative = above (overpay).
- English and Dutch are separated because Dutch auctions run hotter on average — blending them would flatten the signal. Use the toggle above to switch.
- Descriptive, not predictive. "Tuesday 2am was best last month" doesn't guarantee next Tuesday 2am will be. The heatmap shifts as the market shifts.
